A. History

        Tanjungpinang has been known for a long time. This is due to its strategic position on the island of Bintan as a center of Malay culture and trade traffic. Tanjungpinang's history is inseparable from the Johor-Riau Malay kingdom. The name of Tanjungpinang is taken from the position of the beach nut tree that juts into the sea.
